HEX ezCAN PURE

For years, HEX ezCAN has been the gold standard for integrating auxiliary lighting and electronic accessories directly into modern CANbus-equipped motorcycles. By reading CAN data from the bike, ezCAN allows accessories to respond intelligently to factory controls — indicators, high beam, horn, brake — all without cutting a single wire.

But not every motorcycle has a compatible CAN system. And until now, riders of those bikes couldn’t access HEX’s intelligent control ecosystem — especially the new generation of digital smart lights, which require an ezCAN-style controller to function.

That’s exactly why ezCAN PURE exists.

What is ezCAN PURE?

The ezCAN PURE delivers the same intelligent output control as the original ezCAN — but instead of reading CANbus messages, it reads direct trigger wire signals from your motorcycle.

It connects to:

• Ignition live

• High beam

• Left indicator

• Right indicator

• Horn

• Brake light

By detecting these trigger signals, ezCAN PURE can control auxiliary lights and accessories in exactly the same way as a CAN-connected ezCAN. Flash-to-pass, turn signal cancellation, dimming, strobing, horn flash — all the familiar HEX functionality remains, now available on any 12V motorcycle or vehicle.

This also means all current and future digital smart lights work seamlessly with ezCAN PURE.

Universal Fitment — With Optional Bike Integration Harness Kit

Because ezCAN PURE is a universal controller, installation involves connecting to your bike’s trigger wires. On many motorcycles this will require:

• Identifying trigger wires

• Using a multimeter or wiring diagram

• Minor harness trimming or routing

To simplify installation, HEX are releasing bike-specific Integration harness kits alongside ezCAN PURE.
Where available, these harnesses make installation plug & play, except for connecting the controller directly to the battery.

More models will be added over time.

• CFMoto 450

• Kove 800X

• KTM 390 Adventure / 390 Adventure R / 390 Enduro (2025+)

• Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

• Yamaha Ténéré 700 (2025+)

(Additional models will be added as HEX release new patch harnesses.)

Installation Notes

• ezCAN PURE connects directly to the battery for power.

• Trigger wire connections are required unless using a patch harness.

• Basic electrical knowledge is recommended.

• A multimeter may be required for universal installations.

• Full HEX software configuration is supported via PC/Mac.

Important Recommendation — ezCAN vs ezCAN PURE

If your motorcycle has a compatible HEX ezCAN available, we strongly recommend using the standard CAN-connected ezCAN instead of ezCAN PURE.

Using CAN data allows deeper integration with the motorcycle’s internal systems and provides the most seamless plug-and-play installation.

ezCAN PURE is designed specifically for:

• Motorcycles without CANbus

• Motorcycles without an available ezCAN model

• Universal 12V vehicle installations

There is nothing preventing the use of ezCAN PURE on CANbus bikes — but where possible, ezCAN remains the optimal solution.

Every Hex ezCAN purchased from A Bike Thing is covered by our exclusive 5-year dealer warranty, applicable to units purchased from 1st November 2023 onwards.

HEX provides a 2-year manufacturer warranty, but we’re so confident in the product that we extend this protection to 5 years from your purchase date, giving you extra peace of mind.

If your ezCAN develops a fault within those 5 years, we’ll replace the unit free of charge.
