What is the difference between PACKTALK EDGE and PACKTALK EDGEPHONES ORV?
EDGEPHONES ORV is a headset-style solution for non-helmet, open-cabin use. You dock the EDGE control unit into the
magnetic Air Mount on the headphones and get the same comms, music and phone features without a helmet.
Can EDGEPHONES ORV connect with helmet units and other Cardo devices?
Yes. It supports Dynamic Mesh 2.0 and Bluetooth, so it can mesh with PACKTALK EDGE units and connect via Bluetooth to other Cardo devices.
Is it waterproof and dustproof?
Yes. The system is rated IP67 for water and dust ingress protection.
Does it provide noise reduction?
Yes. The headset offers passive noise reduction (NRR 15) and the mic features noise filtering for clearer voice.
How many riders can join the group intercom, and what’s the range?
Up to 15 riders in a DMC group. Typical unit-to-unit range is up to 1.6 km / 1 mi in ideal conditions;
chained group range can extend up to 8 km / 5 mi.
Do I need cellular service for the intercom?
No. Intercom works over DMC/Bluetooth and does not require cellular coverage. Cellular is only needed for app features or calls.
How do I update the unit?
Use Over-the-Air (OTA) updates via the Cardo Connect app, or update via USB-C and Cardo’s desktop software.
Can I charge it while in use?
Yes. Charge while riding is supported via USB-C.
What is the warranty period?
3 years from date of purchase (proof of purchase required).
